Paris, France

As a few of you know, and many who do not, I am leaving next Saturday to go to Paris for a week with the family. I’ve never been nor do I have any idea what are the “must see” attractions of this city (other than the Eiffel Tower of course). That is where you come in! If you have been, would you be so kind as to make a few suggestions of places to go and things to see?

That would be fantastic!

Awesome! Annabelle and I were in Paris last October. Here are a few things I’d recommend:

-Get a week-long metro pass (definitely worth the money)
-Go to a service at the Sacre Couer in Montmartre (There’s a little cafe at the bottom of the hill, looking up at the cathedral, and they have the best cafe au lait I’ve ever tasted).
-Spend a significant amount of time at the Cathedral of Notre Dame
-Eat dinner in the Latin Quarter
-Avoid the Moulin Rouge (not worth it, and happens to be in Paris’s “Red Light” district)
-Visit the Musee d’Orsay (old train station turned top-notch museum)
    -Visit the Louvre
-Rent bikes and ride them along the Seine

Those are the big ones. Really, it’s just great to be there, walking around and eating great food. I’ll be interested to know what you think when you get back. Have fun, man!

I expect a full and detailed account of your journeys. I am thrilled that you get to go and not thrilled that I don’t! But I’m more thrilled for you. ;-)
